Walking pictures

Simon is helping compile a book of walking pictures; those informal postcard sized snaps taken as souvenirs at seaside resorts around Britain (indeed round the world) between the 1920 and 1960. These cameramen set up on busy points, snapped people walking towards them, gave them a card which showed where you could se and buy a print the next day. The book’s publishers are looking for people to rummage through old family photo albums and scan suitable shots. If you’ve got any hidden away please post a message below and we’ll be in touch with scanning specs. Here’s a few shots to show the sort of image. Most have an ID number on, and often a firm’s name or logo on the back.
