We’re only here for the beer.

Ian-Paice-beerNottingham’s Castle Rock Brewery are producing beers to celebrate famous folks born in the city, and have announced a limited edition “Ian Paice Nottinghamian Celebration Ale” available in local pubs through to the end of June. I’m not sure if this will be bottled at all. Most of these breweries just make such limited edition ales as draught, and the design probably appears on the pump (but if you live locally and know different let us know!).  Spotted by Peter Judd.

Rock related/sponsored beer seems the “in” thing at the moment; Robinsons brewery can’t keep up with demand for Iron Maiden’s “Trooper” ale; and a nice drop it is too ( it’s now in yer local Morrisons too!)

Managed to grab a pint or two in my local Castle Rock pub. Their beers are always pretty sound, this was good too. You can get Castle Rock bottled beer, usually only in their own pubs, but it’s only the regular brews, and I’ve not seen this one in a bottle I’m afraid!

I contacted the brewery and was told they have no plans of bottling Paicey’s brew. It’s a shame, I would have bought several cases.

And some for the weekend as well? I haven’t heard back from them, I think they missed a trick here though!

Going to sample a few pints soon.

Could’ve been: The (Moscow) Mule, (Bloody) Mary Long, High ball Shooter, Kentucky Bourbon, and so on…

The Deep Purple cocktail lounge – they could take over the bars at all the UK venues and really go to town.

Excellent news. Receiving a pint of Paice instead of the usual pint of p*ss served in the over-crowded, over-priced pubs in Milton Keynes would be a rare treat! Yours grumpily……
