Tony Carey’s in town

Tony Carey, Rainbow, Mandoki

Not sure if you will be able to spot him if the line-up is anything like the one on this photo of an earlier event!  Anyhow, his appearances in the UK are almost never, so if you’ve not seen him play, here’s your chance. Take your binoculars and just don’t shout out for Tarot Woman:

“For more than two decades Leslie Mandoki has united legendary icons of Anglo- American rock and jazzrock in his band ‘Soulmates’.Their repertoire combines a mixture of their own music, a sophisticated and progressive rock sound combining elements of jazz with classic, well-known hits from the original bands of these members and played together by all of them. The Soulmates recorded five studio albums of pure sophisticated rock and gave countless remarkable concerts with different lineups all over the world.”

They will present a unique concert to the London audiences featuring Leslie Mandoki, Béla Szakcsi Lakatos, David Clayton-Thomas (Blood, Sweet & Tears), Bill Evans (Miles Davis Band), Till Bröner, Randy Brecker, Udo Lindberg, Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Klaus Doldinger (Doldinger’s Passport), Tony Carey (Rainbow), Nick van Eede (Cutting Crew), Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann’s Earth Band) and John Helliwell (Supertramp).  Thanks to Vince Chong for the heads up.
