And all that Jazz

People with long memories should recall a very different cover album called “Jazz Tribute To Deep Purple” by the Air Jazz Quartet, issued back in 1995. It was an interesting and very listenable CD, one of the few such records to make it to our shelves permanently. It’s been out of print now for many years, but the producer Alain Rabiat has finally got a new edition pressed, and with three extra bonus tracks too. The best way to get this is to buy it direct from their official website (either as a proper disc or those new fangled MP3 thingies!)
Here’s a photo Alian sent of IP holding the first copy.

Sounds interesting. Is there a more comprehensive review available?

Not since we did one in the magazine! But I think it’d worth a listen, there are some samples on their website.

Even though I’m really curious to hear this, the cost of the CD + shipping, after conversion to Canadian funds, is 55 dollars. That’s far too expensive to indulge my curiosity.

Got this for years and it is very interesting and enjoyable indeed! Whereas this russian orchestra doing the Purple classics (and released back then too) still turns up in my nightmares …
