Whoosh!

Whoosh! Single RSD Deutschland 2020.jpg

UPDATE – Record Store Day has been put back to late June due to current health crisis. Original story below.

Record Day is fast approaching (April 18th) and fans in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland will have the chance to grab an exclusive ten inch vinyl special from the new Deep Purple album at participating shops. As of now we do not know which tracks will be featured, nor their exclusivity or otherwise, but Lutz Reinert has sent us the sleeve (above). More as and when.

Mean time we were out shopping the other day (we’re very old school at DTB) for some computer screen cleaner and ended up with this…  and judging by the price Edel would be advised to ditch issuing records and go into making cleansers.

Tyskland

February 4, 2020

Looks like Deep Purple will be filling in with shows across Europe after the British dates at the start of October. Ole Sandgaard Andersen has just spotted two new dates in Germany and Holland later that month. The show in Holland at the Ziggo Dome offers some particularly wallet straining options including a “business seat with diner” for just 355 Euros! “Would you like to translate this page?” asks my browser. Er, no thanks.  I can’t even find the price for the optional “platinum” ticket, I assume if you need to ask you cannot afford it!  But it does seem to come with a rather swish exclusive laminate access ticket as shown. All new dates are shown on our Deep Purple Diary page.

Second date

October 21, 2015

Given all the denials on various websites about the festival, I was half tempted to edit the post (below), but I think it’s more a case of the promoter needing to get the news out there and start selling tickets, and everyone back at Castle Blackmore being caught on the hop at the speed of German logistics! This advert has just reached us via several emails (not sure who first posted it) and confirms a second show in Germany. Two days, each in a different muddy field!  But despite my reservations it is nevertheless quite emotional to see THAT artwork in print again after 40 years.  Have my Knebworth wellies dried out yet?

…stood on a mountain top

March 1, 2013

A wedge of German dates have been announced for October, and also a concert in a ski lodge at the top of a mountain in Austria! Thanks to Jochen Karger for the update, the shows are added to our gig list on the site.
